Programmes include: support for the installation of 750,000 tube wells; the provision of 14 million school textbooks; support for a national vaccination campaign against six immuno-preventable diseases; distribution of vitamin A to strengthen immune systems; and the provision of iodized salt to prevent deficiencies that cause goitre and cretinism.
