Breakfast at Tiffany’s Script Sold for Record Amount

You wanted to hold in your hands the original script of Audrey Hepburn from “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”? Well, this won’t be possible as the script has been sold at auction at Christie’s. And what’s more…the highest bidder took the unique script home for the stellar amount of £630,000. The price was seven times higher than expected. The script contains Audrey Hepburn’s personal notes. I wish I could have taken it for myself! I’m sure the new possessor is more than happy to have this treasure.
At the auction, other actress’s personal belongings, including dresses, shoes, accessories, photographs and scripts have been sold for a total amount of £4 mln.

The personal collection of one of the most iconic and stylish women of all time has been appreciated by many. A bidder paid £332,750 for a Tiffany bangle that Audrey received from the famous director Steven Spielberg, inscribed with the message: “You are my ‘inspiration’.” Audrey Hepburn has been a muse for a lot of world known directors and designers including Hubert de Givenchy. The French fashion designer has stated more than once that Audrey has been his inspiration and very close friend. Mr. Givenchy designed per Hepburn’s personal request, the beautiful wardrobe for “Sabrina” including the iconic long black and white dress as well as the black dress from the opening scene of “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”.

Another unique piece from the auction was a beautiful tiara sold for £43,750. The elegant tiara was worn by Audrey Hepburn to the London premiere of “The Nun’s Story” in 1959 and in the film “Two for the Road” 1967.

Audrey Hepburn’s belongings have been made available for sale by her two sons, Sean Hepburn Ferrer and Luca Dotti. Everything was in excellent condition coming from the wardrobe of the actress at her home in Tolochenaz, Switzerland. Thanks to the amazing performance of Hpeburn in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, “My Fair Lady”, “Roman Holiday”, her style and elegance will always be an inspiration for generations.
